About 60-70% women in their late 30’s start experiencing symptoms like headaches, migraines, low mood and depression, disturbed sleep, low libido and mood swings.
I strongly believe that the mind and body are not separate entities but two sides of the same coin hence body cannot be healed without healing the mind. Though nutritional interventions, diet, and lifestyle changes are deeply appreciated, without healing human psychology, you can’t treat a whole person. I understand stress management is equally important in treating health issues.
Personal Story
For over 30 years, I worked in the pharmaceutical industry, building businesses around medicine and healing. Yet, behind the scenes, I was struggling myself.Chronic pain, digestive issues, and inflammation slowly weakened my body. By 45, doctors advised me to avoid simple activities like walking alone or sitting on the ground. I felt trapped as if life had shrunk into fear and limitation.
But what hurt more than the physical pain was the mental toll; frustration, helplessness, and the feeling of losing the life I loved.
That became my turning point.I stepped away from everything and moved to the mountains of Dharamshala. There, I immersed myself in meditation, Vipassana, mindful movement, and years of silence and self-inquiry. Serving at monasteries and living simply helped me rebuild not just my body, but also my mind.
Since my teenage, I have been in the habit of doing meditation sitting in lotus posture for two to three hours in the morning.
My dedication to meditation taught me resilience, clarity, and inner stability.Today, at 63, I feel mentally stronger and more peaceful than ever before.
Why Mental & Physical Wellness Must Go Together
I learned that most chronic illness begins with chronic stress.
When the mind is overwhelmed, the body follows and leads to digestion problems, inflammations, and healing slows down.
True recovery happens when we calm the nervous system, process emotions, and create balance in daily life.
A peaceful mind supports a healthy body.
Mental wellness isn’t optional — it’s the foundation of healing.
